Teamism runs rampant in most online political discussions. For many, the other side isn’t just wrong, but they are actually bad, stupid people. In that regard, the dreaded uninformed swing voters are sometimes less corrupted.
I’ve had a follow up article in the works for a very long time which addresses the mechanics of how intelligent people manage to let their logic skew awry in order to accommodate their preexisting beliefs. Hopefully, I’ll be able to finish that one before too long.
